About the EJHR
The Ethiopian Journal of Human Rights (EJHR) is a multidisciplinary journal published by the Center for Human Rights, Addis Ababa University (CHR, AAU).
Objective and Scope
- The objectives of the EJHR include promotion of knowledge and dialogue on issues of human rights as multidisciplinary theme.
- EJHR envisions promoting human rights values including, but not limited to, understanding, tolerance, and participation.
Peer Review Statement and Originality
- All research articles published in the journal undergo rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and reviews by external reviewers;
- Articles submitted to the journal must be original contributions that are not under consideration for any other publication.
- The EJHR welcomes solicited and unsolicited research articles, reviews, commentaries, decisions of courts/tribunals, opinions/notes/reflections, on various themes related to human rights.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
The Ethiopian Journal of Human Rights (EJHR) is an open access journal. All articles in EJHR are published open access with a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 user licence.
Article Processing Charge
There is no charge to authors. Authors will not have to pay an article processing charge (APC).
Publication Scheduling
The journal is published annually in December.
PLAGIARISM
All submissions are screened for plagiarism using tools like Turnitin. Manuscripts with clear evidence of plagiarism will be rejected, and if detected post-publication, the Editorial Board will notify the author's institution and funding agencies.
EJHR is an open access journal and Digital copies of the journal are archived at https://ejol.aau.edu.et/index.php/ejhr and https://www.ajol.info/index.php/ejhr
Authors can enter the separate, additional contractual arrangements for non-exclusive distribution of the published paper (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
