GRATIFICATION PATTERNS AMONG PEASANTS AND WORKERS IN CENTRAL ETHIOPIA
Abstract
The nature and distribution of
gratification patterns (GP) and several
re lated variab Les were studied in
Central Ethiopia. It was hypothesized
that white-co l lar workers, blue-co l lar
workers, more educated persons, older
persons, and women would prefer delayed
gratification more than peasants and
blue-collar workers, peasants, Less
educated persons, younger persons, and
men, respectively . Also, positive relationships
were predicted between
GP, individual modernity (OM) , and
future time orientation (PTO) .
