Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1. General Guideline
§ Manuscripts to be submitted to EJHR should be written in English.
§ Manuscripts should not exceed 10,000 words (including tables, references,
captions, and footnotes).
§ Authors are required to submit abstracts. The abstracts should not exceed
250 words.
§ Each manuscript should have up to 5 key words.
§ Manuscripts should have: title page; abstract; keywords; main text;
conclusion and recommendation; references; appendices (as appropriate).
§ All authors of a manuscript should include their full names, affiliations,
email addresses on the cover page of the manuscript.
2. Style Guidelines
§ Font; Times New Roman (12 pt.) and 1.5 line spacing.
§ Indicate paragraph breaks by leaving a line open. No indentation of
paragraphs; instead place a space between paragraphs.
§ Cited forms should be marked by quotation marks and emphasized
expressions should be marked in italics.
§ Short quotations should be indicated by double inverted commas, with
single inverted commas for quotations within the main quote. Quotations
of more than 60 words should be indented.
§ Check that all references cited in the text are included in, and correspond
with, those in the works cited or references section.
§ Use numbering format for headings and sub-headings: 1, 1.1, 1.1.1, etc.
§ Use the Chicago Author date citation and referencing style.
Submission;
§ Articles must be submitted as an electronic file (Microsoft Word).
§ All manuscripts should be sent to the editor in Chief of the Journal either in
email or through hard copy
§ All articles submitted to EJHR must be original articles and not submitted
for publication to another journal
