ECONOMIC RETURNS FROM ADAPTIVE RESEARCH ON WHEAT, \ CASE STUDY OF THE ARSSI REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT UNIT

Abstract

The study has attempted to quantify the economic rate of return (IRR) on adaptive research on HYV wheat in Ansi region. The findings show an IRR of 40 percent. The sensitivity o{ tbis estimated JRR to different demand and supply price elasticity and supply sbift faceor Qssumptions bas betn tested. Under all assumptions tbe IRR is bigb and reil:uivtly stable. The conclusion of tbe study is, therefore, that the adaptive research on 'Wheat carried out in Arssi region has been quite profitable.
