Dr. Mekonnen Hailemariam is an Assistant Professor of Journalism, Media and Communication in the Department of Journalism and Communication at Bahir Dar University. He obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Media and Communication from Bahir Dar University (BDU) in May 2022. In addition, he obtained his MEd and BA in Multicultural and Multilingual Education and Ethiopian Languages and Literature (Culture and Communication), respectively, from Addis Ababa University. He attended different training organizations courses and certified him with a diploma in human resources, a diploma in customer service, a diploma in project management, and a diploma in human rights education. He also passed through several other trainings, such as African Civic Engagement of the University of Georgia, Conflict Analysis, Negotiation, and Conflict Management of UNIP, Humanitarian Principles, Entrepreneurship, and Population Communication. He has been working as an assistant professor of journalism, media and communication at Bahir Dar University (BDU) since June 2017. Previously, he was working at BDU as a lecturer, assistant lecturer, and assistant graduate II and I since 2004. To this date, he has been teaching and supervising Ph.D. and M.A. students in the Media and Communication program as well as BA students in Journalism and Communication. He has been an expert in teaching media, public relations, journalism, and communication. He has a tremendous experience in research, publication, and community services. Thus, he has served for more than twenty years. He has contributed as a liaison and resource mobilizer for the Ethiopian Family Guidance Association (FGAE). He has also served as a regular member of the standing committee and resource mobilization for FGAE. He was the project coordinator for the Amhara Development Association water bottling plant project. In this capacity, he has coordinated the feasibility study, specification, and design of the project. On the other hand, he was a coordinator and supervisor of project design, planning, advocacy, lobbying, and supervision of projects entitled community-led sanitation and hygiene, research, and community services with the support of the BDU Research and Community Services Vice President's office. He has been an active participant in the academic activities of the university. He participated as a co-facilitator and co-trainer of the fifth and sixth youth development training programs provided by the Ministry of Peace in collaboration with BDU. He was a life skills trainer for university female students. He has organized and coordinated several workshops and conferences at BDU. He has participated in various workshops and conferences. For example, he participated in and contributed to the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority validation workshop on vaccine safety risk communication. He also participated and presented his research results at conferences held by Hawassa University, Assosa University, Wolkite University, and Bahir Dar University. He was a former program unit coordinator of the BDU distance and continuing program. Before joining EJLCC as the current Editor-in-Chief, he served it as associate editor. He was a Ph.D. research fellowship winner of the NORPART 2016/10471 project: Enhancing Norway-Ethiopia Relations in Journalism and Communication Education and Research at NLA University College, Department of Journalism and Media Studies, NLA Kristiansand, Gimlekollen, Norway [February 26 to May 22, 2018]. He has published seventeen articles, one book chapter, and two books in internationally peer-reviewed journals and book publishers. His published works are indexed in Scupus, Web of Science, and PubMed. Currently, he is a full member of the International Society for Development and Sustainability (ISDS), Japan.

2. Dr. Anteneh Aweke Ewenetu

Dr. Anteneh Aweke Ewenetu is an Associate Professor of Amharic Literature at Bahir Dar University, Department of Amharic. He has been working at BDU as an Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Lecturer since 1994. He received a Doctor of Philosophy in Theory of Literature from the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2014. He received his MED in English Literature and BA in Amharic Language and Literature (Amharic) from Addis Ababa University. He has offered different literature courses in undergraduate and postgraduate (MA and PhD) programs at Bahir Dar University and Addis Ababa University. He has supervised MA and PhD students at Dar and Debre Markos University. He has served Bahir Dar University in different positions: department head, associate registrar, vice dean, quality assurance coordinator, and freshman program coordinator. He has worked as an associate editor of the journal Ethiopian Journal of Language, Culture, and Communication (EJLCC) from 2016 to 2023. He is now working as an associate editor-in-chief of the journal. His areas of research interest are Amharic literature, the history of Ethiopian literature, oral literature, and the influence of Geez on Amharic literature. He has published two book chapters, five articles, and three book reviews in international journals like Baselius Researcher, a biannual journal of interdisciplinary studies and research, and local journals like the Journal of Ethiopian Studies and the Ethiopian Journal of Language, Culture, and Communication. He has also worked as a conference organizer and editor of proceedings. He has presented different papers at national and international seminars.

3. Dr. Yenus Nurie Bogale

Dr. Yenus Nurie Bogale is currently an Associate Professor of TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), offering courses for doctoral students in TEFL and education. All his advisees are working on their dissertations on teaching, designing instructions, and assessments in education. He graduated from Bahir Dar University with a PhD in TEFL, a MED in TEFL, and a BED in TEFL, respectively. He has gained a wide spectrum of experience in teaching English language in primary and secondary education, which has helped him become adept at designing courses related to language education. His current research project focuses on understanding the role of various teaching methods and psychological variables in learning outcomes. Through these research projects, which confirm his passion for instructional design and assessment, he will help elucidate why certain instructional methods are more vibrant in enhancing learning than others. He has published eighteen articles in reputable journals. He has also led a quality assurance and enhancement unit for the Faculty of Humanities at Bahir Dar University, where he was responsible for auditing the quality of teaching-learning, research, and community service and monitoring the instructional design of courses in line with the given standard. For the last fourteen years, he has trained many undergraduate and graduate students who have been evidence of his professional achievement in broader implications. After he has got the opportunity to get training on instructional design, he is very interested in it so that he can refine his interests and learn about the practical application of education through designing courses that are effective in improving quality education. His ultimate career goal is to go ahead with advanced educational research and become a professor at a research-intensive institution, which his university envisions.
4. Dr. Solomon Teshome Baye

Dr. Solomon Teshome Baye is an assistant professor of folklore studies at Bahir Dar University. He contributes more research in the areas of religious rituals, religious syncretism, place lore, oral history, musicology, culture, and peace building. His pioneering work entitled ‹‹ፎክሎር፤ ምንነቱና የጥናቱ የትኩረት አቅጣጫ›› [Tran- Folklore: Its Nature and the Focus of the Study] for which he received an award of recognition from Bahir Dar University for publishing the first text book in the area of folklore in Amharic language. He has published academic articles in international and national journals. He has a professional and intellectual contribution as a columnist on TAZA MAGAZINE, a monthly magazine on art, culture, history, heritage, and social issues. He has contributed as a volunteer public speaker, guest speaker, book reviewer, and analyst on folklore, culture, and current national issues. He offered a media briefing. He has organized, coordinated, and participated in workshops and conferences.
5. Dr. Negesse Belay

Dr. Negesse Belay Gessese currently is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Journalism and Communication and PhD in Media and Communication Studies, Bahir Dar University. Negesse conducts research in both quantitative and qualitative Communication and Media Studies covering public relations, religious communication, development communication, Social, and political communication are among others. Publications have appeared in Palgrave Communication- Humanities and Social Science communications, Romanian Journal of Communication and Public Relations (RJCPR), Buckingham Journal of Language and Linguistics, (BJLL), the Asian TEFL, Heliyon and other outlets.
6. Dr. Medhanit Belachew Beyene

Dr. Medhanit Belachew Beyene is an Assistant Professor of TEFL, Bahir Dar University (BDU), Ethiopia. She has been working in BDU since 2005. She has completed her education in PhD, MEd and Bed in TEFL from Bahir Dar University, Faculty of Humanities. Besides, she has completed her MA in Gender and Development from BDU. Her research works focus on technical Report Writing as ESP perception and Practice of Self- assessment in EFL Writing Classrooms; Female Students’ Participation and Performance in Peer-Led Language Learning (PLLL) in EFL Classrooms; a needs analysis of ESP in Textile Engineering Profession in Ethiopian Context. She has participated and presented papers on different seminar activities. She has delivered trainings on topics such as communication Skills Training to Female Graduating Class Students; ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING TO ADMINISTRATIVE STAFFS OF EITEX; communication Skills Training to Graduating Class Students; life skills for Freshman Program Students and IELTS since 2023 to current date, twice or more times a year. 7. Dr. Dawit Amogne

Dr. Dawit Amogne is an Associate Professor of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) at Addis Ababa University. Dr. Dawit has been extensively engaged in teaching, supervising, and examining a number of doctoral and master’s students in various universities in Ethiopia including Bahir Dar, Addis Ababa, Wollo, Hawassa, Gondar, Debre Markos, and Mekelle universities. Dr. Dawit has given training on academic and professional writing, qualitative and mixed research methods and many more to faculty, students, and professionals. Dr Dawit has got 15 research articles published in national and international journals. He also took a leading role in the development of Bachelor of Education and Doctor of Education programs. He was the external program assessor for the PhD in TEFL program in Wollo Univerity where he has been extending his support teaching and supervising doctoral students in the program. Dr. Dawit is also an English language trainer in Ethiopian Aviation University and Sanford International School. Further, he has developed and managed projects that are funded by international agencies. His research interest includes teaching academic and professional writing, technology in English language teaching, communication and ELT matters.
8. Dr. Mesfin Wodajo Buli

Dr. Mesfin Wodajo earned his MA and PhD degree in Sociolinguistics from Addis Ababa University (AAU). He has been teaching a diverse array of courses ranging from English language to linguistics, sociolinguistics, and translation. His research interests delve into the intricate interplay between language and society, encompassing a wide spectrum of topics including language policy, language and identity, language maintenance, language use, and translation studies. He has publications on various sociolinguistic issues. Currently, Mesfin serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) in the research project 'Multiling: Digital Database for Ethiopian languages, based at Addis Ababa University. This initiative targets the development of a comprehensive digital repository for Ethiopian languages, aiming to preserve and promote Ethiopia's rich linguistic heritage. Mesfin also provides trainings on Professional Translation for Translators in Ethiopia. Together with his team of MA in Translation scholars at Addis Ababa University, Mesfin is currently dedicated to establishing the academic foundation of professional translation within the institution. His efforts signify a commitment to advancing sociolinguistic scholarship and nurturing a new generation of skilled translators.
9. Dr. Tilahun Bejitual

Dr.Tilahun has a multi-university interdisciplinary PhD in Cultural Studies/Historical & Cultural Anthropology from the University of Tübingen (Germany), University of Bergamo (Italy) and Federal Fluminense University (Brazil). His M.A. in European Literary Cultures was awarded by the University of Strasbourg (France) and the University of Bologna (Italy). Tilahun also holds M.Ed. from Addis Ababa University in Multicultural & Multilingual Education and B.Ed from Bahir Dar University (Ethiopia). He has received further training in an international context from the Department of State (USA), University of Cologne (Germany) and the Academy of Sciences of South Africa. Formerly a Cultural and Social Affairs Advisor at the FDRE Ministry of Peace, Tilahun is currently Assistant Professor of Cultural Studies at the Center for Social and Cultural Studies in the Academy of Ethiopian Languages and Cultures of Addis Ababa University. Tilahun has worked with various UN agencies and international organizations. He is now serving as IOM consultant coordinating the East and Horn of Africa Regional Ministerial Forum on Migration (RMFM) at the FDRE Ministry of Labor and Skills. A polyglot speaking a handful of languages (Amharic, English, French, Italian and a nodding acquaintance with Portuguese), Tilahun's publications and areas of interest include intercultural and interreligious encounters, mobilities and migration, social capital, peacebuilding, literature and art.
10. Dr. Almaz Wasse Gelagay

I am Almaz Wasse, and I am an Assistant Professor of Linguistics at Kotebe University of Education. I received my PhD in Linguistics, Master of Arts Degree in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Languages and Literature (English) from Addis Ababa University in 2017, 2007 and 2004 respectively. I am an experienced teacher, researcher and administrator, which are demonstrated in my engagements in and out of university activities. I am actively involved in research and publication in the areas of language teaching and learning, language development, mother tongue education, multilingualism and language policy. I proved my professional integrity and capacity in research writing, training, reviewing and editing in project and consultancy works with many organizations and individuals. I have been involved in collaborative research and publications which remarkably attested a successful cooperation and collaboration. I published three solo and two collaborative articles in reputable journals. I edited a book with colleagues from University of Oslo and Addis Ababa University where more than 15 articles were prepared by university professors. Further to these, I work as a technical committee member for two education organizations and as an external consultant for another two organizations which evidence my professional commitment and enthusiasm to serve others.
11. Dr. Emebet Bekele Birkie

I am an Assistant Professor of English Language, Literature and Linguistics at Hawassa University. I received my PhD in Linguistics and Master of Arts Degree in English Literature from Addis Ababa University in 2019 and 2011, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Language and Literature (English) from Hawassa University in 2006, respectively. I am an experienced teacher, researcher and administrator, which are demonstrated in my engagements in and out of university activities. I am actively involved in research and publication in the areas of English language and literature, Ethnolinguistic identity, language politics and language use among multilingual societies. I proved my professional integrity and capacity in research writing, training, reviewing and editing in project and consultancy works with many organizations and individuals. I have been involved in research coordination, evaluation and dissemination at Hawassa University which remarkably attested a successful collaboration and ability of team work with people of diverse backgrounds and ideas. I have also been producing and hosting a research-based radio program for over six years covering a wide range of research topics across all disciplines which has given me a great exposure to extensive reading and evaluation of research articles published by renowned professors over the years. I was also a Research and Post-graduate programs Coordinator at College of Social Sciences and Humanities for three years and served as Research Programs Coordinator at University Level for two more years. In addition to teaching, research and community services I have been delivering various services in the university administrative positions since my graduation and immediate employment by my home university, HU, at different capacities including my current position as Director General of Public and International Relations Office in my university. All of these experiences have molded me into a passionate leader and committed professional learning new ways to improve myself and serve better every day.

Dr. Amare Teshome Mulatu (Ph.D.) is Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics in Ethiopian Language Teaching at the department of Ethiopian Languages and Literature (Amharic) at the University of Gondar. He is currently the associate editor of an Ethiopian journal of language, culture, and communication and the language editor of the Ethiopian Renaissance Journal of Social Sciences and the Humanities. In addition, he reviews for multiple national journals in the field. He has also published some research articles in the field of language education. He has published articles in journals as well as in proceedings and presented a number of papers on a conferences and workshops. He has completed a PhD project on “effect of task-based language teaching on students writing achievement and motivation, Addis Ababa University”.
13. Dr. Getachew Tilahun Wakene

Dr. Getachew Tilahun Wakene has been a journalism and communications educator for at least the past 20 years. He has been a critical media consumer and reflector in the Ethiopian media landscape, an educator and researcher at Jimma University, a board member for community radio, and a trainer for journalists working for local media and for communications experts working in regional and zonal communication offices. He has published many studies focusing on Ethiopian journalism and media, communication, and education in general. He has also researched, published, and trained on road safety, with an emphasis on road safety education and communication. Getachew is presently directing a road and transport safety research center at Jimma University, which works on road safety research and advocacy and communication projects.

Dr. Sefa Meka Hussen has completed his PhD research project on Amharic Terminologies in Primary Education: Efforts and Challenges at Addis Ababa University. He completed his 2nd and 1st degrees at Addis Ababa University. He has received certificates in school management and a higher diploma in active learning. He has contributed to the development of language teaching materials. He published more than five articles in journals. He has presented five research papers at conferences. He is interested in conducting research on language teaching, multicultural education, literacy, terminology, and language planning. He has been teaching, supervising, and providing community services at BDU since 2004. He also contributed as Dean, Faculty of Humanities, Bahir Dar University, from 2019–2022, Assistant Professor at Bahir Dar University, from 2017 onwards, Bahir Dar University Summer Program Coordinator, 2008, Department Head of Ethiopian Language and Literature, from 2005–2006, School Principal at Bati Red Cross Secondary School, from 1997–2000, and Amharic Teacher in Senior Secondary Schools, from 1989–2002. Lastly, he has been serving as the Amharic language editor of the journal since the first publication of EJLCC.
16. Dr. Fisseha Derso

My name is Fisseha Derso (PhD). I have graduated with bachelor of Education/BEd/ in English from the then Alemaya University in 2003 and switch my study area to Literature and earned my MA in English Literature at Addis Ababa University in 2008 and got my third degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Bahir Dar University. I have more than seventeen years of experience in teaching English Language and literature at different levels. My teaching experience enriches me with the skills and knowledge to deal with students of varying age and language levels. The reading and the research exposures basically from two related but different fields of studies have benefited me to have a better knowledge and experience both on qualitative and quantitative methods of research approaches. Since my last degree, I have been engaged in various professional activities such as, manuscript reviews and language editorial tasks, to mention the most pertinent. I have also been taking part in manuscript reviews for Ethiopian Renaissance Journal of Social Sciences and the Humanities upon request. I am currently serving as a language editor for one of the finger counted journals that earned reputability from the Ministry of Education, Ethiopia, i.e. Ethiopian Journal of Education/EJE/. Moreover, I have participated in language editorial and manuscript review processes for Ethiopian Journal of Language, Culture and Communication (EJLCC) since 2018 before officially appointed language editor. Thus, I am now serving as a language editor for Ethiopian Journal of Language, Culture and Communication (EJLCC). Also, I have been a team member in language editing and manuscript reviewing task force for the series of proceedings published under Faculty of Humanities, Bahir Dar University. My background reading that entailed exposure to both the quantitative and qualitative research methods coupled with my English language specialization has benefited me immensely in my language editorial assignment. In addition to my teaching research editorial engagements, I am also serving as Website Content Manager of Bahir Dar University, BDU.
