Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Special Issue

The Ethiopian Journal of Health Development (EJHD) publishes a maximum of two demand driven issues a year. Special issue focuses on specific thematic research out come of public health interest. Such themes may for example be immunization, HIV, Non-Communicable Diseases or specific components of this, TB, health systems, human resource for health,  etc.

 A special issue may have a maximum of ten full-fledged manuscripts. Each manuscript should not have more than five thousand words including abstract. Manuscript submitted for special issue should follow the same provision for regular original manuscripts (refer to author guide). Each submission will go through a fast-tracked peer review process. Acceptance of submissions for publication depends on favorable consideration and feedback from at least one reviewer.

Unlike regular issues, publication of special issue charges 600 USD for  the special issue for non Ethiopia  while Ethiopians are required to pay 120,000 ETB. In addition to online publication, clients will receive 50 hard copies of the special issue and review process will be fast tracked.
